Venn Studio
Venn Studio is a Los Angeles–based architecture and interior design practice creating custom homes and hospitality spaces shaped by clarity, craftsmanship, and the way people truly live. We believe architecture and interiors should never be separate conversations. They are designed together from the very beginning, creating spaces that feel cohesive, intentional, and deeply personal.
Founded in 2017, Venn Studio was built on the idea that good design should feel both inspiring and effortless. Featured in publications such as Domino, Dezeen, and Architectural Digest, the studio’s work reflects a consistent pursuit of design excellence and a high standard of execution. The name “Venn” comes from the Venn diagram, a reflection of our belief that the best work happens where ideas overlap: between client and architect, builder and designer, form and function. Our role is to guide that intersection with clarity and care.
Today, Venn Studio specializes in luxury residential architecture and interiors throughout Los Angeles, Beach Cities, and beyond, while also taking on select hospitality and retail projects that value strong storytelling and elevated guest experience. Our work includes custom new construction homes, major remodels, estate-level renovations, fire rebuilds, ADUs, boutique hospitality environments, and design-forward commercial spaces. We work best with clients who see design as a long-term investment, those building legacy homes and memorable spaces, not simply structures.
Leadership
Led by licensed architect Gabbi Sun, Venn Studio takes a holistic approach to design, combining architecture and interiors from the earliest project stages to create intentional, highly tailored spaces. Gabbi received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the nationally acclaimed program at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and brings over a decade of experience designing custom homes and commercial projects along the West Coast.
Our Philosophy
Our design approach is rooted in calm, layered spaces that feel expansive, functional, and quietly elevated. We believe in practical floor plans, strong indoor-outdoor connections, natural light as a design driver, and materials that have space to breathe. We mix high and low, refined and relaxed, always aiming for spaces that feel collected rather than overly designed.
Every project begins with listening. We take time to understand how our clients live, host, gather, and move through space, whether it is a family home, a hospitality environment, or a retail experience. From slow mornings in the kitchen to memorable guest experiences and everyday rituals, we design spaces that support how life is actually lived.
At its core, Venn Studio is about creating spaces that feel grounded, lasting, and deeply connected to the people who use them. Through a timeless approach to design, we create homes and environments that support daily life, bring people together, and feel even better with time.
Our Process
Our full-service process is intentionally hands-on, guiding projects from concept through construction with close collaboration between clients, consultants, and builders.
1. Discovery
We begin by understanding your goals, lifestyle, vision, and the unique opportunities of your property or business.
2. Vision + Feasibility
We study site constraints, planning opportunities, and the larger project potential to create a strong strategic foundation.
3. Concept Design
We translate early ideas into spatial concepts, exploring multiple versions of the plan to test layout, form, and overall direction before refining the project in detail.
4. Design Development
Architecture and interiors evolve together. Plans, materials, details, and experience are shaped as one continuous conversation.
5. Permitting + Coordination
We manage the technical rigor of approvals, consultant coordination, and documentation with clarity and precision.
6. Construction Partnership
We stay closely involved throughout construction to protect the design vision and support confident decision-making on site.
