A 1930's Craftsman bungalow in the heart of one of Los Angeles's oldest historic neighborhoods, Jefferson Park. Jefferson Park is the type of neighborhood used as a filming location for period correct movies and TV shows. Driving through the palm tree lined streets you would see rows and rows of grassy lawns leading up to once beautiful and proud historic craftsman and American revival style homes. But when our clients got ahold of their property, it was in no way ready for the cameras.

The clients, a LA native couple with deep roots in our city, wanted to revive this historic home in place; to bring it back to its original glory with touches of modern sensibility.  The house is a designated historic feature sitting within the rapidly changing Jefferson Park HPOZ, so each detail and restoration effort was carefully considered and painstakingly managed. We worked to peel back the layers of time and wear to reveal a quintessential craftsman bungalow. Traditional but not stuffy, organized yet bright and open. A new-old home fit for a modern family.
